Responsibilities
As a Long Haul Truck Driver, your duties include:
- Calculating the cost of truck repairs and replacement parts if needed
- Addressing customers’ complaints or concerns professionally
- Providing excellent customer service
- Driving lighter and special-purpose trucks
- Loading and unloading goods safely
- Handling payments and delivery documentation
- Performing emergency roadside repairs when necessary
- Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Performing preventive maintenance on the vehicle
- Receiving and relaying information to central dispatch
- Tarping cargo and ensuring safety and security during transport
- Transporting and handling dangerous goods according to regulations
